In simple present tense affirmative sentence, we use "s/es" at the end of a main verb when there is as a subject he,she,it,any single name, singular subject. It's so because the rule of a singular subject takes a singular verb and a plural subject takes a plural verb. The base form of a verb is plural. So making it singular, we add "s/es" at the end of the given main verb. This rule doesn't work for the subjects like, i, we, you, they because they all are plural. So we use a plural verb for them. Ex:- I eat an apple daily. She speaks english fluently. We cook food by ourselves. Shreya studies well.
