Difference between peninsula and island

Peninsula- Surrounded by three sides from water. Ex.- India is a peninsula country as it is surrounded by three sides from ocean. Island - Surrounded by all sides for m water. Ex.- Australia is termed to be an island as it is surrounded by all sides from ocean.
