difference between i saw, i have seen

I have seen.

"I have seen" doesn't indicate when the seeing took place. We don't know at what time it exactly happened. Whereas, "I saw" indicates when exactly seeing happened. But, here we have to mention time. Otherwise, it will be wrong. Ex..I saw him yesterday. I have seen the movie thrice.
