"Non-veg can be beneficial to your health to some extent. But meat is not beneficial at all for the health of the earth" If vegetarianism is promoted all over the world, the earth can be made healthier, colder and more prosperous. According to the Nation Academy of Science, * 50 lakhs deaths can be avoided per year by adopting vegetarianism. Do you know? * Every year, 66 lakhs 73 thousand crores can be saved. Not only this, * 33 lakhs 36 thousands will be saved every year due to reduction in green house gases. 'Animals being reared for meat are eating twice as much grain as humans' For example * 3.5 kg of food is given to a hen for 1 kg chicken and 8kg of food is given to the animal for 1 kg of pork. Similarly, * 100 times more water is consumed in the production of meat than vegetables. * The production of half a kilo of potatoes requires 127 liters of water. Whereas a pound of meat requires more than 9000 liters of water. * Every year 600000 hectares of forest are harvested only for rearing animals * There is 40 kg of waste material in the production of 400 grams of meat which makes groundwater toxic. According to the Vegetarian Society charity, * A British citizen consumes an average of 11000 animals in a lifetime. An American eats 122 kg of meat in 1 year. There are 112 kinds of meat available in China including live fox, crocodile, wolf, salamander, snake, food, peacock, porcupine and camel meat. Overall, if the scientific report is made the basis, then it would not be wrong to say that by adopting vegetarianism even 1 day a week, great steps can be taken towards saving the earth. 'Indian culture has always emphasized the glory of vegetarianism'
