When we use didn't and weren't? Plzzz tell me one example

We use "didn't" in the negative past sentence with a main verb. Ex..I didn't go to market yesterday. (main verb is "go") Whereas, we use "weren't" in the negative past sentence without a main verb. Ex..All students weren't present yesterday. (there is no main verb in the above sentence.)
