how long have you been working here? for this i want simple sentence. how long do you work here? is it correct

"How long have you been working here ?" means the person started doing work in the past and still continuing the work. "How long do you work here ?" it means the person wants to do the work but not yet starting the work. We are just enquiring him. So the both sentences are different from its tense meanings.
