What is the difference between 1. I will call you 2. I will call you up

"Call" and "call someone up" both are used to mean that "to make a telephone call to." They both can be used interchangeably without any difference but, "call up" is more informal than "call." And "call" has other meanings too. (shout, cry, meet, request)
