![]() “I give you a book” (simple present tense) is only correct at the moment that the book is given. What is more commonly said is, “I gave you a book” (simple past tense) or “I will give you a book" (simple future tense) or "I am giving you a book" (present continuous tense) based on which is accurate at the time you speak.
