Reacting to Bollywood superstar Salman Khan's controversial simile, the women's wing of the Congress on Wednesday said that rape is a sensitive issue and nobody should take it so lightly.
"Salman Khan's statement has hurt the sentiments of rape victims. It (rape) is a serious issue and nobody should discuss it so lightly, " said Shobha Oza, president of the All India Mahila Congress.
"If Salman retracts his statement or tenders an apology, his personality as a cine star will not reduce.
So, he must reconsider what he has said, " Oza told reporters here.
She said that Salman should have been more sensitive while making the statement.
