Senior Congress leader Ambika Soni on Saturday ruled out any crisis prevailing in Himachal Pradesh.
All India Congress Committee general secretary Soni's statement came as she held a closed - door meeting with Himachal Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh and his cabinet colleagues in the national capital.
The meet was held to access any probability of Uttarakhand - like political situation occurring in Congress - ruled Himachal Pradesh as well.
"The efforts of the BJP to destabilise the Congress government in Himachal Pradesh would never succeed, " Soni told reporters after the meeting of the state coordination committee.
Stating what happened in the Uttarakhand was an attack on democracy, Soni, however, clarified there was no crisis in the Congress in Himachal.
Mounting a scathing attack on the BJP over the ongoing Uttarakhand crisis, Soni, who is also in charge of the hill state, said the party would protest at block - levels across the state against the anti - democratic approach of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Regarding the ongoing investigations by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Enforcement Directorate against Virbhadra Singh, she said: "This matter is sub - judice as investigation is being done from 2011 onwards and we are going to face it and no one is going to evade the law. "
Soni said she called the extended coordination committee meeting of the Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee (HPCC) to take the views of the party leaders.
The meeting was attended among others by cabinet ministers Vidya Stokes, Kaul Singh, G. S Bali, Sujan Singh Pathania and Mukesh Agnihotri, besides Rajya Sabma member Viplove Thakur and state party chief Sukhwinder Sukhu.
After the budget for 2016 - 17 was passed in the assembly on March 31, opposition leader Prem Kumar Dhumal said the Cut Motions brought by the opposition were neither withdrawn nor rejected.
"Technically, the government has fallen as it has lost majority and they have no right to continue, " he told reporters in Shimla.
Two - time chief minister Dhumal has also said Congress legislators were unhappy with the chief minister and were in touch with him (Dhumal), and an Uttarakhand - like situation can't be ruled out in Himachal Pradesh.
Expressing solidarity with Virbhadra Singh, who has been accusing the Centre of misusing government agencies against him, the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) met in Shimla this week and affirmed faith in his leadership.
Besides 32 Congress legislators, the four independent, who have been supporting the Congress, were also present at that meeting.
The chief minister has said his government is stable despite political manoeuvring by the BJP.
"The central government is misusing three investigating agencies against me. I am an old Congressman. They (political rivals) are aiming for my political murder; and, if they have their way, they can even kill me, " Virbhadra has told the media in Shimla.
"The opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (in the state) is trying to oust my government by deliberately raising in the assembly the issue of ongoing Enforcement Directorate probe into the money laundering case against me and my family, " he said.
"I don't expect justice from BJP leader (and union finance minister) Arun Jaitley. But I have faith in Prime Minister Narendra Modi, " he said.
