The Supreme Court on Tuesday extended till January 31 the time for the elite Sanskriti School to accept the application for admissions to nursery classes.

An apex court bench of Justice Anil R. Dave and Justice Adarsh Kumar Goel extended the time, saying that three judge bench would decide on the character of the school  whether it is owned by the government or run by private society.
The central government and the Sanskriti School have moved the apex court challenging Delhi High Court verdict quashing 60 percent quota in admission for the wards of group officers of All India Services like IAS, IFS, IPS and RBI. among others.
Even as the school and the central government pressed for staying the high court judgment, senior counsel Shekhar Naphade, appearing for the Delhi government, told the court that even if this happened, Sanskriti School  would not be able to take advantage of the quota as the state government had abolished all reservations earlier this month.
