Fifa World Cup rights deals agreed in Thailand
True Vision and Amarin TV to show flagship soccer tournament.
True Vision and Amarin TV have acquired free - to - air broadcast rights in Thailand to this summer’s Fifa World Cup.
Nine local companies are understood to have agreed to jointly pay ฿1. 4 billion (US$44 million) to help fund the TV rights for the global soccer showpiece, including King Power Group, CP, Thai Beverage, Kasikorn Bank, Bangkok Mass Transit System (BTS), Gulf Energy Development, PTT Global Chemical (PTTGC), Bangchak Corporation and Carabao Dang.
Singtel, StarHub and Mediacorp to cover 2018 Fifa World Cup
The country's National Broadcasting and Telecommunication Commission (NBTC) requires that major sporting spectacles such as the World Cup and the Olympics are aired on free - to - air TV as well as pay - TV channels.
The 2018 Fifa World Cup is due to kick off on 14th June in Russia.
