 In this type of sentense we tell someone that this work is done by someone. Active: Rahul distributes News Paper in block 4. And we can say this, in different way by making object( Newspaper) as a subject of sentance. Passive: The Newspaper is distributed by Rahul in block 4.

A sentence is a passive voice if the subject does not do the work but if the work is done upon the subject. Eg:Rice is eaten by me. Here 'rice' does not do any work but the work is being done upon it.
