1. Environment
a. The Swacch Bharat Abhiyan is being taken a notch higher. The government has proposed to create 2 crore toilets this year.
b. In order to avoid wastage of food during surplus harvest, rupees 500 crores have been allocated to Operation Green. Under this, logistic and storage support will be enhanced for TOP (tomatoes, onions and potatoes) vegetables.
c. 10 important tourists spots to be developed as Iconic destinations. A tunnel under the Se - La pass, Arunachal Pradesh will be constructed.
2. Health
a. MODICARE: National Health Protection Scheme is being launched. Said to be the largest programme in the world, the scheme will benefit 10 crore households with a medical waiver of 5 lakh rupees per family per year.
b. Relief for TB patients: Under Ayushman Bharat Programme, Rs 600 crore would be allocated for nutritional support to all tuberculosis (TB) patients.
c. 24 new medical government colleges and hospitals to be set up by upgrading existing district hospitals.
3. Amenities
a. Liquified Petroleum Gas, LPG connection will be provided to more than 8 crore women.
b. Electricity provision: Rs 16, 000 crore will be spent on providing electricity connection to nearly four crore poor households under Ujjwala Scheme.
c. Water supply: AMRUT programme to focus on water supply to all households in 500 cities. Water supply contracts for 494 projects worth 19, 428 core awarded.
4. Education
a. New Planning and Architecture schools to be set up in IITs.
b. PM Research fellow scheme: 1000 B - tech students would be selected for scholarship.
c. To improve quality of teachers, govt to launch integrated B - Ed programme. The government aims to move from blackboard to digital board in schools by 2022.
5. Railways
a. 12, 000 wagons, 5, 160 coaches and 700 locomotives will be added to the current railway set up.
b. All railways stations with more than 25, 000 footfall to have escalators.
c. All railways stations and trains to have Wi - Fi and CCTVs in time.
6. TAX rate
a. No change in Personal Tax: A standard deduction of Rs 40, 000 for salaried taxpayers.
b. Mobiles and TVs become costly: Customs duties hiked on mobiles from 15% to 20% and on TVs to 15 % to boost domestic manufacturing.
7. Miscellaneous
a. Crypto - currencies illegal: The government will take all steps to stop the use of Crypto - Currencies but will encourage Blockchain technology in payment systems.
b. Salaries of President, Vice President and Governors increased: The pay will be increased to Rs 5 lakhs for the president, Rs 4 lakhs for Vice President and Rs 3. 5 lakh for governors.
c. Wi - Fi in rural areas: 5 lakh Wi - Fi spots to be created in rural areas. Niti Aayog to establish a national programme to direct efforts towards Artificial Intelligence, including research and development of its applications.
