Actress Kate Winslet, who awaits the release of her forthcoming crime thriller drama film "Triple 9" in which she will be seen playing a mafia boss, says portraying such a character was a challenge for her.
"My first reaction when I read the script was like, 'I can't play the role, I won't be able to do this. That's not possible for me', " Winslet said in a statement.
"And hadn't had that feeling when I read the script in a very long time. That's when I was like, 'Damn! Okay, that's really the ultimate challenge and I should be considering doing this. ' It's just so brilliantly written and incredibly cool. The script really is quite shocking, there is no limit to what desperate men will do when pushed, " she added.
"Triple 9", directed by John Hillcoat, is about a crew of dirty police officers who setup a 'virtually impossible heist' involving the Triple 9 code, 999, for 'officer down'.
Apart from Winslet, the film also features Woody Harrelson, Casey Affleck and Chiwetel Ejiofor.
The film will be released in India on March 11 by PVR Pictures.
